Few things are more magical than the mix between bread and Christmas. It’s magical to make bread and it gets even more impressive if it’s in the shape of a Christmas bread wreath with spices, walnuts and raisins. I made this recipe because it’s one of the recipes that you guys asked from me on Instagram when I asked what you wanted to learn for Christmas. So mission accomplished ;)….
Breakfast and brunch
When I was a little girl I loved to turn on the Christmas tree at night (my mom had this GORGEOUS tree with gold ornaments) and have a mug of hot chocolate and a bit of panettone. As years have gone by I’ve changed the panettone for Christmas cakes or loafs that are full of spices and nuts. You definitely need to make this Christmas bundt cake for your gatherings with friends and family; they’ll love it.
Is there anything nicer than the smell of fresh bread? Now imagine that mixed with that there’s the incredible smell of cinnamon… Just so perfect. This bread dough you can also use to make a regular loaf of bread of you can even braid it and do pull apart bread. It’s the perfect recipe to vary.
Crêpes are a must recipe to know how to make. This recipe works good for savoury and sweet fillings, however cinnamon apples are my favourite. These crêpes are the perfect dessert after a tasty meal. They’re not too heavy and you could definitely add some whipped cream or vanilla ice-cream to top those nice and hot apples.
Ah… breakfasts. If you haven’t noticed by now, it’s the meal I enjoy the most in a day. Maybe it’s because I usually have it inside my bed (yes, I get up, prepare breakfast and a coffee and then go back in) or because coffee’s involved, but I just love it. And these baked french toasts are so good! You can vary them up by changing the fruit or adding dried fruit, nuts, bananas, the sky is the limit 🙂
Muffins are great, but breakfast-worthy muffins are even better! These are great with the texture of the steel-cut oats and the carrots which gives it extra moisture. I’m definitely having these with a cup of coffee in the morning and a huge smile on my face. Watch the video to also learn how to make these muffin cases as well from baking paper….
Scones are delicious for breakfast and tea time. I’ve had tons during the last few years and I have to say that these are by far the best I’ve ever has. They’re super moist and that lemon flavour is jut great. A good replacement for poppy seeds are black sesame seeds….
If I was a mom and had to choose between a savoury or sweet breakfast in bed for mother’s day… I would choose both! But these perfect scrambled eggs have to be on that serving tray for sure. The secret is to cook them on super low heat, add the salt at the very end and finish with cream. You’ll love the finished dish….
I really love Biscotti just because I love coffee and they go so nice together! The other thing I like about Biscotti is that the recipe is really versatile and you can swap the nuts, dried fruit and other flavourings every time you make it as long as you have a nice base dough. Biscotti means double cooked, and so we first cook it as a kind of loaf at 160C and then cut slices and dry them out for a perfect crisp at a lower temperature….
Valentine’s Day is coming! And even though you don’t have a boyfriend, girlfriend, special mate or whatever you want to call it, it’s an excuse to do something nice for someone you love; whether it’s a friend, family member or someone else. I bring you for this day a recipe which is DRIVING ME CRAZY. They are savoury french toasts with smashed avocado and poached egg… YUMMY!!!!!!! In the YouTube video and here I give a detailed description of the step by step process with all the tips so that you get a perfect result, specially with the poached egg that I know some people are terrified of….
