This magic hard shell chocolate for ice cream is extremely easy and quick to make. The result is delicious and it really does go heard instantaneously.

Magic Hard Shell Chocolate for Ice Cream
The reason why this magic hard shell chocolate becomes hard is that it has coconut oil, which is hard when it cools down. Thus, then it comes in contact with the ice cream, it creates a hard shell almost immediately. It’s really satisfying to knock on the shell with a spoon and break it. To give it the chocolate flavour we use cacao powder and then add sweetness with icing sugar. Just three ingredients for the perfect result every time. If you like it with less o more sugar, you can adjust the amount accordingly or even use artificial sweeteners.

Homemade Ice Cream
If you need a homemade ice cream recipe to use your magic hard shell chocolate on, I have many ice cream recipes here on the blog! The best part is that they’re all no-churn so you don’t need an ice cream machine to make them. You only need condensed milk and whipped cream as a base. From there you can make all sorts of delicious flavours. I think that this shell is great with vanilla flavours or an ice cream recipe with chocolate. Here are a few ice cream recipes that I think would work amazing:

Another thing I like about this magic hard shell chocolate sauce is that it’s made with cacao powder. You can also make it with melted dark chocolate, but I think coconut oil is expensive enough to also add the dark chocolate. Now, if you prefer, you can use 50g of melted 60-70% cacao dark chocolate instead of the cacao powder. Mix it with the coconut oil and after that, you can taste it and adjust the sugar level. The result is also delicious!

Ingredients
- 6 tbsp coconut oil
- 5 tbsp cacao powder
- 4 tbsp icing sugar
Instructions
- If it's not melted, melt the coconut oil in a microwave for 10-15 seconds.
- Add the cacao powder and sugar and whisk together.
- Wait for it to cool down to room temperature and pour it onto your ice cream. With time it will solidify like coconut oil, so before you use it melt it for a few seconds. It will last up to 6 months at room temperature.
