Pita Chips Three Ways

by Lorena

You can never have too many yummy recipes to make for our guests and loved ones. Making homemade pita chips is easy and they’re delicious. You can add very different flavours to them and make them go with the other food you’re making. I assure you that you will notice that they’re so good that they will eat them on their own.

In this post I will teach you how to make pita chips three ways: the classic with olive oil, salt and pepper, others with paprika and oregano and the last are spicy lime pita chips. They’re quite different between them and the idea is that you try them and get inspired to try new flavours of your own. For example, you can use chopped fresh herbs, other spices, grated cheese, etc. The possibilities are plenty and you can start with these to open your mind :).

When you make pita chips you can choose between opening the pita bread in half before cutting them into triangles or not. What determines if you do it is what you’ll be serving them with. If they’re delicate flavours, you want to open the pita bread in half first. If your flavours are strong or the textures dense, it’s best to leave them double. Do you enjoy dips? Then I recommend that you try my yoghurt dip with tahini that I uploaded last week. It goes really well with pita chips!

A tip that I love that you find is this recipe is how to sprinkle spices. In general, when you pinch a spice between your fingers and try to sprinkle it on something, it tends to bunch up. It’s different to salt that sprinkles in a separate manner and much more evenly. That’s why I recommend that you first mix the salt with the spices before sprinkling them onto the bread. That’s especially beneficial when you want to sprinkle cayenne pepper and don’t want for all of it to lay on one triangle, lol.
